Absentee and mail-in ballot request deadlines are soon approaching.
Highlights from the 2019 CCDCC Holiday Party
The 28th Annual CCDCC Holiday Party was held on December 7th, 2019, at the Fremont Hills Country Club. Missouri Senator Scott Sifton, District 1 (D) was our guest speaker. Senator Sifton called on us to “stay on our toes” because Missouri Republicans plan on going back to propositions they have pushed in the past: more gerrymandering; increased gun access, especially in schools; limits on Medicaid expansion; restricting unions; restricting women’s health care; and amending our prevailing wage law.
Senator Sifton asks that we not “cloister ourselves,” but reach out to others, especially those on the fence politically. We can not expect people to come to us, we need to reach out and let them know we will work to make our state and local governments work for all of us.
Please consider joining us in making Missouri a better place for ALL OF US.
Fundraiser fun in 2018
Christian County Democrats gather for fundraisers in 2018.
Democrat Club of Christian County donates to local charities
Every month the Democrat Club collects money for designated local charities. In 2018 we chose two charities: Freedom’s Rest (Christian County’s only domestic abuse shelter) and St. Joseph’s Food Pantry of Billings, with the monies split 60/40 between the two, respectively.
In January of 2019, Democrat Club member Marge Bramer gave Freedom’s Rest a check for $445, and our new Democrat Club President, Bob Rubino, presented St. Joseph’s Food Pantry a check for $296. Rubino also gave the Food Pantry the 448 “Best Choice” labels the Club had collected. These help them defray the cost of food purchases for the pantry. (Unfortunately, their monetary donations have been down almost 25% while the number of people needing assistance has increased!)
